Try running SqueezeCenter from a command prompt. Some kinds of error output will not show in the log, but will when you run it as c:\program files\squeezecenter\server\squeezecenter.exe
It is working for me on my setup, so I'm not really sure what could be wrong. I do know that batch files named without an extension will not work when the path contains spaces, but I have a .bat and .cmd working. Hopefully the command line will show something.
