Before you look, though, embedded images are broken on my site at the moment so you'll have to use your imagination. It was basically a wheel on-screen with groups of letters grouped around the circumference (a bit like an old rotary telephone, if you're old enough). The wheel would spin in keeping with the Jive wheel to hopefully allow fast entry. Basically, though, it's the same as your idea with some fancier graphics. Starting from yours is probably an easier development effort, though. I didn't get a very enthusiastic response to the idea initially and, unfortunately, I've not made much more progress than that initial screenshot and description. I'm hoping to get around to it eventually but it's one of those things that's on an ever-growing list at the moment.
