I wondered if it would be possible to extend the irblaster functionality to use it as a generic, networked IR transmitter? The reason is to use it to control all IR kit in the same room as the transporter from/via a server elsewhere.
Secondly - is there a published protocol to talk direct to the irblaster? It would need to handle repeating codes correctly as well as momentary ones and would have a database of several hundred codes. In my plan - the front end of this would probably be a browser based control system that can be vnc'd into, using nokia internet tablet as well as any other browser in contact - though I'm sure there are multiple ways of doing this. It would need some sort of interface to allow it to be controlled from html. This would allow any pda/tablet/pc to act as a full remote for the room concerned.
