...I also suffer! I have Alien V2.01b1_7.1 running on SqueezeCenter_7.1, outputting (independently) to either of two SB3's. The software was 'clean' installed on my Vista32 (HP) machine (WEI scores 5.3).So it should cope! I have no problems streaming video, BBC iPlayer, radio etc. from my Sky ADSL connection usually at a fairly constant 4.5 mbs. But I can't get any BBC audio streams via SC -what I do get is a slow, garbled voice, where words can just be made out. An extreme 'vibrato' sound -it's mmm..aaa..ddd..eee..nnn..ii..nn..gg. I'm not an expert, but here are some assumptions: 1) It's not a wi-fi problem -I have good reception and the problem persisted when an SB was attached to my LAN. 2) It's not a firewall problem -switching it off makes no difference. 3) It is an RSTP problem between the arrival of the signal and dispatch to the SB. Softsqueeze plays fine on the PC. Other versions of SC and Alien fail similarly. I even tried back to 6.x! 4) Mplayer is installed and tests fine. LAME.exe is recognised. Are these involved? Logs are incomprehensible to me, but..... Please help!
