Thanks for your interest 'NonReality' -here in UK (Bath) SKY ADSL is part of a satellite TV package using its own 'hard-wired' Netgear router for access -not really cheap/easy to test or replace. I'm a long way from the Telephone Exchange -getting about 4mbps on a nominal 8mbps connection with a noise ratio of about 8db, into an old house with several redundant telephone extensions (where do the wires go?) and a wireless/phone burglar alarm recently installed. Not ideal, but filtered and working (except for FLAC).
Where do I start? As this is not the place to discuss my network, I will leave that question as rhetorical.
