I did use the x2systems instructions as shown by clicking the Slim Devices website's Community / Forums / Audio / Alien BBC route.
Then I installed the Alien plugin into my Library / Application Support/SqueezeCenter/Plugins folder. I believe that this does install a version of mplayer.sh into its bin folder and it probably works fine but a later one came up in the forums just as I was having problems. Probably wasn't needed. The tricky bit was the installation of the mPlayer executable as obtained from the link on the x2systems instructions http://www.mplayerhq.hu/design7/dload.html. This nasty site came up with a myriad of alternatives, codecs and general confusion. The simple advice I'd give would be to only download the appropriate .dmg version for one's specific computer, open the volume it produces and simply drag the MPlayer OSX file into the Applications folder on your Mac. Then restart the Mac and enjoy the music. I hope that is as clear as I can make it and wish that the mPlayer route was much simpler but guess it will be with us for some time to come until the BBC move to a different streaming method ... Hope this helps other innocents abroad :-) Viv -- vhs ------------------------------------------------------------------------ vhs's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2918 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=52477 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
