Is the playlist successfully created but nothing happens when you play
it ? That is, do you see it in the list of available playlists ?

If that's the case, restoring TrackStat ratings might work.

If you did an upgrade, you might also be affected by the following bug
report:
http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=9423

If you are affected by this you should see some warnings from TrackStat
at SqueezeCenter startup.

I think the consequence of that bug report is that TrackStat ratings
won't be shown even though they are in the database. I think a
workaround might be to:
1. Make sure you have a TrackStat backup (I'm not sure if you will be
able to take a new backup in this situation, so hopefully you already
have a fresh one).
2. Shutdown SqueezeCenter
3. Delete the Cache/MySQL directory in the SqueezeCenter installation
directory
4. Startup SqueezeCenter
5. Wait for the rescan to finish
6. Restore the TrackStat backup
