I also see the "Java Web Start" 'starting application' box, and the "trust"/"don't trust" prompts - the starting application box is similar to the one on the left in dborod's post.
I also looked to see what version of Java is running, it shows java version "1.5.0_16" Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_16-b06-275) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_16-132, mixed mode, sharing) My Software Update "Installed Updates" shows "Java for Mac OS X 10.4, Release 7" on 10/22/08 - I wonder if something got changed in there.
