I reverted the hardcoded path and added /opt/bin to Unix.pm. This works. For me this is sufficient, however it would, of course be nice to have this problem solved for other QNAP users. This means that: 1. Slimdevices should add /opt/bin (and possibly also /opt/local/bin) to unix.pm 2. the issue in CDhandler.pm is not resolved in a generic way by commenting out lines 1028 and 1030.
