Just created a new Freenas server and followed the instructions to install slimnas. Seemed to have been successful and "extensions" tab created.
Went into "Sqeezebox Server" tab and enabled it. In the middle box I now have "There's no Squeezebox Server installation file available. Please download the latest archive and store it in your SlimNAS installation folder using your preferred method (Windows share, FTP, etc.)." In my slimnas folder on the Freenas box I have put three different versions of the sqeezecenter-7.x.x-noCPAN.tgz files, but for some reason these are not being seen. The "slimnas.tgz" file seems to be ok as there is a checkbox available for that. I am putting the files onto the Freenas server via a Linux box and the tgz appears correctly on the end of the files.
