I have looked into both SrvrPowerCtrl and executeScript and these plugins are quite interesting and both touch on what I'm looking for, however they are both restrictive in which events they will act upon. Seems like they only reponse to certain actions (Play,Pause,etc..)
I have seen that the squeezebox will react to other remote control (JVC and apparently sony). I want to use a JVC remote to execute an arbitrary script after pressing an arbitrary button on the JVC remote. I am wondering about the interaction between the squeezebox and the server after the squeezebox receives an IR event. Are all events relayed to the server? Or only certain events? I know that when I change the volume with the remote, the volume level is updated on the web interface, which means that the server was aware of the change, and that means the squeezebox sends something to the server after every volume up/down. Does anybody have any more information? Does such a plugin already exist?
