The command works for root : arecord -c 2 -f S16 -r 44100 -D hw:0,0 | flac -cs --totally-silent --compression-level-0 - >sharkrecord.flc I tested "sudo -u squeezeboxserver arecord -l" and I have this message : "arecord: device_list:223: no soundcards found..."
