I've posted a new beta release which should be available from the plugin page as before.
This release supports windows, linux (i386) and mac (ppc, i386, x86_64) Major changes: 1) Playlist handling is changed internally with the aim to ensure titles and other details are displayed more consistently in the playlist view. If you have large Spotify playlists then you may find you need to enlarge the Maximum Tracks setting on the settings page (initially 500). 2) You can now add Spotify URIs for external (other user's) spotify playlists. This is most usable via the web interface and allows you to share you playlists. The plugin remembers the last 20 playlists added (select remove from within the playlist to remove) 3) Advanced Spotify searches can be performed. This is for power users and I've hidden the menu for this unless you select the setting "Advanced Search". With this you can type in raw spotify searches such as genre:techno and get all the albums, artist or tracks which match. Note that there is no limit on the number of matches which it tries to get, so if the search terms are too general it will take a while to return the response and it may cause the server to use additional memory. 4) The 20 most recent searches are remembered as "recent searches" 5) In an attempt to improve stability, if the helper app is unable to play a stream it will be restarted. You then need to press play again, but this is aimed at improving the chance of being able to play streams. There have been a number of internal changes too, but these won't be visible.
