I don't know the way the Windows Phone App does this but for iPeng you need the SongInfo and SongLyrics plugins for Lyrics and this is not going to change. The reason is that there is no way I know of to get Lyrics that are legally and globally licensed and using unlicensed ones is one of the safest ways to get thrown out of the App Store. The Apps to which it happened are legion (I've got half a dozen Lyrics Apps that are no longer around).
