Thanks for getting back to me. The reason I did it manually is that my
plugins tab doesn't work... it never has done so I've always had to
install plugins manually. I raised this in another thread a long time
ago and have just updated it with some more info
(http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?93053-Plugins-tab-not-responding).

It would be great to get the plugins tab working, but if not, do you
have any advice on the manual installation?
