OK, technically what I was trying to do worked fine so I've got a working ARMv6 version (for 2nd generation devices) of iPeng 2.0.x here. It's not as beautiful as iPeng 2.0 on iOS 5 and 6 since the redesign doesn't really work with iOS 4 so all the custom buttons, bars etc. revert to normal, dark blue or black ones but it works.
