Thanks much! In fact, I wrote a perl script which does exactly the kind of inconsistent tag identification you mention. I've used it to great effect to cleanup my tags. It doesn't automatically fix the issues, but helps in spotting problems with fairly high accuracy. Unfortunately, it is stand-alone (not a plugin) and only supports cue sheets (which is my favorite format). Having a plugin for this, taking advantage of the LMS's database, could be very useful. Converting this to a plugin is on my long-term TODO list... :) I would love suggestions (or patches!) that could extend the usefulness of the Multi-Disc plugin (renaming or forking as appropriate) for others. I really hope it can be leveraged in lots of different ways. Finally, the specific problem that MultiDisc is trying to overcome for me is that there is (as far as I know) no consistent way of supporting multi disc sets that would work for both LMS and other playback software. Furthermore, LMS seems to want the album name to be identical for all albums in the set. This works for most of my sets, but certainly not all. I have many sets where each disc has both a unique identity (which I want to maintain) and still needs to be part of a multi disc set. This is why I added support for SETNAME checking in the comment tag. So MultiDisc isn't just about me being lazy :) and not wanting to have to set DISC/DISCC tags (though that is part of my motivation!). Multi-Disc fixes up my multi disc sets (for me), keeps my tags consistent/useful between LMS and other programs, and requires minimal re-tagging. It was also an interesting/fun exercise to write (at least at times!) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ mrthreeplates's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=565 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=101663 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
