The Transporter, Mac Mini, and NAS are all on hard-wired connections.

Checked and a new scan hasn't been run in almost a year. Status bars are
all showing complete.

I was advised by the programmer who set up my Savant system not to
update the LMS Server because Savant was only certified to work with
7.7.1. But I'll try this and if it doesn't work with Savant, I can
always reinstall the old version. I'm just wondering if this is the
problem, why do the other controller apps work fine? There is no
slowness or problems with the Logitech SB Controller or Savant apps.

I have restarted the LMS more than once. I have also deleted and
reinstalled the iPeng app including the older Classic version. iPeng
finds the LMS very quickly but takes a while longer to discover the
players.
