So my reading is this is essentially the same thing as audio over a Chromecast except that you don't need a dongle that's connected to an HDMI port. Devices have the cast-receiving ability built-in. So certain devices which typically come without HDMI (e.g., some compact/portable speakers) function with Google Cast for Audio.
This isn't really a cool, innovative, brand-new idea. This is basically a function for those who are incapable of doing anything without an app that works out-of-the-box. To work with Google Cast for Audio, your device essentially needs to contain a small computer. Think of current AVRs. Hifiberries. WLAN speakers. Etc. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ poing's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=63617 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=102853 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
