SQL playlist plugin does exactly this, you don't have to know SQL unless
you want to do advanced configuration and customize the SQL code in the
playlist. I think I had a Random Playlists plugin a long time ago but it
also used SQL, the only difference with SQL playlist plugin is that the
SQL playlist plugin contains more configuration options. It is possible
to create a template with less options if that's what you like. Is the
problem that SQL playlist plugin playlist configuration has too many
configuration options ?
