>From despair to joy in 24hrs thanks to bpa and all those who posted the
320kbs HLS feed details.
Using these for BBC 3, 4, 4 extra, 5 live with bpa's plugin:
Code:
--------------------
http://a.files.bbci.co.uk/media/live/manifesto/audio/simulcast/hls/uk/sbr_high/ak/bbc_radio_three.m3u8
http://a.files.bbci.co.uk/media/live/manifesto/audio/simulcast/hls/uk/sbr_high/ak/bbc_radio_fourfm.m3u8
http://a.files.bbci.co.uk/media/live/manifesto/audio/simulcast/hls/uk/sbr_high/ak/bbc_radio_four_extra.m3u8
http://a.files.bbci.co.uk/media/live/manifesto/audio/simulcast/hls/uk/sbr_high/ak/bbc_radio_five_live.m3u8
--------------------
Running LMS Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.0 - 1418894490 @ Mon Dec
22 04:05:10 UTC 2014 in debian unstable (Siduction Linux)
To answer my own question, you can test a url using ffmepg at the CLI in
Linux with something like:
Code:
--------------------
ffmpeg -i
http://a.files.bbci.co.uk/media/live/manifesto/audio/simulcast/hls/uk/sbr_high/ak/bbc_radio_three.m3u8
-f alsa "hw:2"
--------------------
Adjust the "hw:2" to suit your system's audio devices.
I have yet to fix the version of LMS running on our Windows 7 laptop.
How ironic, that devices running logitech software, which the BBC
ignored, should be probably the first to have a fix. I feel sorry for
those who have forked out for other expensive gear to hear 320kbs AAC
streams who have now been left high and dry. No doubt those managing
this debacle at auntie beeb will still get their bonuses etc.
