That's only part of the story. The more important part is that they cite Pierre (the original author of the plugin) telling them that people still use an outdated version of the plugin, because they use his repository file instead of the default one. I take it from his response that the issue causing the blocking was fixed in more recent versions of the plugin. Did you check what version you had installed (and have now)?
