If you are using a current version of Chrome - a browser based DASH player is found here
http://mediapm.edgesuite.net/dash/public/support-player/current/index.html Paste URL into box and the click Load. This has lots of control over playing but if wrong selection is made - nothing is played. URL must be a MPD URL - no redirections.
