Dr out of interest are you connected via a ethernet switch?... I'm
trying to think if  there is any link to my issue and I am connected
behind a 5 port gig switch and was wondering if that was part of it?

Had any power outs or crappy power cycles? I think mine when each time I
turned the power off at the fusebox for rewiring work and then it always
had problems after the reboot

Does yours still work fine as the server? mine does but the UI just
doesn't work

Also, I have an old readynas duo (also connected via the switch) .. AND
come to think about it they are all connected to a Netgear Homeplug...
which also doesn't load the web UI 

BUT I also have a new NAS which doesn't have any problems and that's
connected in the same way.

Can you SSH into the PI? Have you tried a reboot from there?

These are all the things I've been through and the only solution I've
ever found is a reinstall.

Sorry not any answers but maybe we can see if there are any
similarities? ... Man in a van.. I have done all the power cycles on all
devices and not solved it in my case.
