In this case it's important because the ickStream plugin's override (which does enable it by default for lossless streams) isn't yet enabled for Deezer. Deezer Elite didn't get officially released with ickStream yet because it's currently only sold through Sonos so I guess we forgot it. Will get fixed, in the meantime the player setting is a good workaround. That said.... Like with TIDAL the real fix will have to be an optimized CDN
