For what it's worth, my own experience, when I started around 2 years
ago developping for LMS and knew nothign about Perl either, the best is
to start from a good example (e.g. Qobuz) and use a lot the source code
of LMS, where there is also a lot of other plugins that are good
examples. The Technical Information in the help page also has some
helpful information, including on the Perl framework used for GUI. It
was a difficult learning curve for me, especially when I did the YouTube
porting to APIv3, but again, with the help of Michael, bpa and others,
things worked out. My recommendation is to write small pieces in Perl,
independently from LMS so that you can do unitary tests easily and don't
go mad at stopping/restarting LMS all the time, especially when you'll
have to deal with the Amazon API (maybe this is my own biais as I'm
still making a lot of mistakes in Perl)
