I think I did the appropriate chmod magic for all metadata files. Let me
know if this works for you.

No problem, thanks Craig.  Actually, the maven metadata files still need 
to be updated with the correct permissions, if you could update those 
with group write permissions that would be appreciated.

By pluto 1.2 I mean pluto trunk not the 286 branch - which as of right 
now, is slated to be version 1.2.
