See this Google Portlet -

The source is here: http://www.uportal.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/portal_portlets/GooglePortlet/#dirlist

You can see it in action at the Industrial Media and Magic website:

Here's a link to a portlet I wrote: http://uppertank.net/blog/?p=31. It searches a backend database that we use (custom homegrown system) and displays results. It will let a logged in user save their search results. The link to the source code is a much older version (v 1.0) than the live demo (3.4). The live demo is limited in that a. you don't have a login so you won't be able to save searchs, and b. some of the implementation isn't complete (e.g. I haven't implemented search yet).

But you should get a good idea from these two examples, and if you want I can release a copy of the 3.4 source code.

I'm doing "busy work" at work right now but I hope to be done within the next week to devote more time to portlet development, helping with pluto patches and wsrp patches, and I'd be happy to link to more results if you are interested.

 Hi all,

It seems that I deployed the sources - thank you Craig.
Does any of you has a small tutorial how to develop portles in pluto from scratch?

I kind of look over the sources of TestPortlet and that is wonderful (but to have a tutorial would be nice :-).

If noone has don't worry - the TestPortlet is nice and enough.

 Thank you,
 Paul.
