Pluto is a subproject of the Apache Portals project. Pluto is the reference implementation of the Java Portlet specification (JSR-168) and serves as a portlet container. A portlet container manages the lifecycle and request processing of compliant portlets. In order to ease testing and experimentation, the Pluto container has been released with a sample portal driver and utility portlets.
