Yes, there was a checkin earlier topday that broke the build. Unfortunately there are a couple of other errors once you get passed the compile error. I'm trying to figure out what's been changed and will check it in soon.
For now, check out the latest tag (created just 4 days ago) https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/portals/pluto/tags/milestone-1.1.0-alpha2/ and see if that works better for you.
