I literally get a lock up now every time I close my lid, when I reopen
it later.

The gnome-power-manager maintainer needs to upload a fixed version of
gnome-power-manager to Fedora.

The HAL button code is completely removed in 2.27.2 now, and they'll
be a fixed 2.26.x version when I've debugged a couple of issues where
buttons are not coming through X correctly.
