Hi, To cap this thread; there seems to be enough interest into this and hence i've put it on the todo list for 1.6.1, ie. for the summer (we are 1.6.0 now in Git and this release is already full). If anybody has more urgency than that, please contact me privately to see what is possible to align timelines.
