Hi Faizan,
I guess the underlying question is whether you can build a
prefix-to-prefix traffic matrix using sFlow data (and probably attribute
it to ASNs automatically using a BGP feed). This is indeed all possible
in concept. A proof of concept would be needed in one of your
environment for testing.

Hello Paolo,
I am currently serving as a consultant for several IXPs in India.
Our standard practice involves implementing an IX setup with a shared
Layer 2 Ethernet fabric platform. At our IXPs, peers establish BGP
sessions with our route-server, powered by BIRD v2. To effectively
monitor and manage our network, we rely on "IXP Manager," utilizing SNMP
for Interface graphs and SFLOW for Peer-to-Peer graphs.
We are facing a demand from multiple IXPs for a more comprehensive
traffic analysis tool that offers more in-depth traffic analysis,
insights than the current capabilities of "IXP Manager." Specifically,
we are seeking a tool that can seamlessly complement "IXP Manager" and
provide detailed analysis of traffic patterns associated with individual
peer IP-prefixes, information on the volume of traffic each IP-prefix is
sending and receiving.
we believe that PMACCT could be the ideal tool to meet our requirements.
We would appreciate it if you could confirm whether our understanding is
accurate and elaborate on *_how PMACCT can contribute to enhancing our
IXP network_*. If PMACCT proves to be valuable, I am considering
implementing it across multiple IXP environments.
Looking forward to your insights.
Best regards,
Faizan Barmare.
