The support for pre-defined WMS layers is just the standard Mapserver
function, like defined in the map file as the "global_mosaic_base". This is
static and not modifyable by the user at his client.

I started some development to allow users to add WMS layers from whereever
they want, just defining the URL and selecting the desired layers of the WMS
service. All of the files for this functionality are in the new wms
directory.

The current development version allows to show all WMS layers of a service,
but you cannot select the layers you want, so *all* layers are loaded and
that may cause some time. Also what's currently missing is to select the
drawing order. If you add a WMS service, its layers are drawn on top of the
predefined from the map file. That might not be what you want.

The further development is a bit stuck now because I don't have the time to
finalize the work on the XSLT templates used for parsing the WMS
information. I had to dig deeper into this topic first (or find someone who
knows it already better).

So currently see the client WMS functions more as sort of 'proof on
concept'. Should be included once in version 2.0 and 1.1.

You need to know the correct URL of a WMS service. And first of course you
need to know which ones are existing. So maybe use google. The NASA offers
various services.
