I don't understand what you mean with this... and what is the final 
result. Nor do I know if you get any errors (PHP or JS).

For me it works fine and you can see an example on the demo site. I 
could imagine that there are problems with some versions of MS (4.10.0) 
because of bugs for attribute queries on Postgis layers, but you say it 
works for the first setting.
