I'have the same problem with Debian Lenny, MapServer 5 and pmapper 3.2, all
installed from packages.

If I install Debian Etch, the MapServer and mapscript packages from apt-get
are the same that I have now?  Is there, with the downgrade, a possibility
that search works?
