Was able to solve the permissions issue last night.  Is working fine.

You can try it out by creating any subgroup in Test.  You
automatically get edit privileges, whether Test-Main-One or just Test.
 All in one attributes setting.  Pages that don't start with Test-*
are edit protected.  Kind of cool.
