A set of automatically localized variables would also be very
convenient, most prominently:
{$langTitle} - localized page title taken from
(:if userlang en:)
(:title Hello:)
(:if userlang de:)
(:title Hallo:)
(:if:)
{$langGroup} - localized group name taken from an XL file
can't think of other right now, but these are important.

Another more difficult area that comes to mind is Categories, how to
design it in a multilanguage aware way? Authors should be able to mark
pages with fixed category names, but then readers should be able to
view/search categories in their local language -with the availability of
multiple languages.
