You can encrypt and/or sign?. In this case, we would just sign so that anyone can check it has not been altered. A signature can be sent within a text (like the signature of this mail (BEGIN PGP - END PGP), or can be separate. In order to avoid any problem with CR/LF sequences when downloading php files, the most reliable way would be to provide a zip file containing the recipe (recipe.zip containing recipe.php), and to sign this zip file.
