I want to set up a WYSIWYG editor on my wiki.  I've set up "worse" and it seems to work, although it is limited.  I noticed that there are screen captures of a different GUI, such as on some Cookbook pages (e.g., https://www.pmwiki.org/wiki/Cookbook/DragDropMultiUpload).

Is there a different GUI available which works better that "worse"?

This has been answered a lot. Unless you limit things to just the very basics (like worse does), there just isn't going to be a great way to do this. Many wiki's have nearly direct translation of markup to HTML and stores HTML so that wiki markup can be bypassed.

If you're looking for HTML editor, PmWiki is not the best choice.

If you're looking for a Wiki with very high level extensible markup that is very fast, PmWiki is an excellent choice.

The GUI buttons you reference are easily turned on in PmWiki and merely make some editor things easy by inserting the appropriate PmWiki markup on things selected, etc. (not WYSIWYG).
