Ahhh, ok now I understand!
which worked with the same limitations as described above. But I also tried
switching to someting different than "default.min.css" (from
https://github.com/highlightjs/highlight.js/blob/master/src/styles/)
but that seemed to have no effect.
This problem was simply because I had failed to download the css files
properly <sigh>...so all problems solved.
