Progressive News & Views (since 1982)

From: Sarah Blum <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
This sums it up in a microcosm of their take on events. They're knee jerk
liberals. Ed Shultz of liberal radio said Hackett was "swiftboated" as if
it was by some conspiracy by Democrats that he was pressured not to run
against Brown. Not so. He was not the more progressive candidate. I'm not
sure he was a progressive at all. He was a Democrat sure, but he had a lot
of typical right-wing, pro-military tendencies. The left really must get
together on this. There is nothing progressive about a military and those
who are in it cannot be supported because they are functionaries of the
regime and as evidenced by their behavior they are the least restrained in
their illiberal and anti-progressive actions. Do not support Hackett. Do
not support the military. Counsel those you know in the military to get
out of the military. Counsel them not to fight, and rape and beat up kids
and knock down doors and terrorize old people. Thankfully there are still
some Democrats who see the difference and therein lies some hope, if not
much.
