I believe there will be war with Iran. I also believe that it will happen
either before the election in November or if not then before the election
in 2008. It may be sufficiently serious enough for George W. Bush to use
as his excuse to call off elections.

Hugh Fitzgerald, who writes often for JihadWatch.com suggests that we get
out of Iraq now. I think that is an excellent idea, not original to Hugh
however, and many of us here have proposed that as the only solution. If
the war was bad to begin with then it will continue to be bad and the
wrong thing to do as long as getting out is delayed to find some other
solution. It is like nuclear power. It is still the cleanest form of
energy and if it means not using coal or oil then perhaps we ought to
switch over to nuclear in spite of it's high cost - at least until we find
another solution for (1) disposing or buring nuclear waste, and (2)
developing wind, hydrogen, geo, or some other method to replace dirty coal
and dwindling dirty oil.

I like what Hugh says about getting out. In 2004 (before the election) he
was advocating that Iran was more serious than Iraq and we must leave Iraq
immediately. He said if Iraq could not deal with their situation, it was
too bad. He said they must "sink or swim" on their own and I am inclined
to agree. When I heard yesterday how the U.S. is building million dollar
sports facilities in Iraq I could not believe my ears. When our kids need
better schools how can this Bush administration pump money into athletics
in Iraq when they can't even keep the electric on?

Hugh says there is no end and no solution but to keep them from doing to
us what they are attempting to do in Europe. The mass emigration to
Europe for jobs is not unsimilar to what is happening to America from
South of our border with Mexico. They are bringing their culture with
them. They're not interested in learning the language of the country they
emigrate to, they do not accept the laws; they only believe in Sharia law
and the Koran. They don't bring anything with them to enhance the
countries they move to except cheap enough labor to create a labor problem
for citizens of those countries, as they have been doing in America. And
there are immigration security concerns.

Israel has the right idea - with their fence, to keep out the
trouble-makers. We need better borders to keep out illegal immigrants;
maybe a better fence. We need to wake up and realize the future may not
belong to us if politicians keep making the wrong kinds of concessions
over security and pander to big business and cheap labor to take jobs
George Bush says American won't take because Americans can't live that
cheap. So what are American workers supposed to do? That should not be the
question and we all already know the right answers.
