And why do the Palestinians have so much clout? For all the obvious
reasons: because they are part of a large Arab nation, which is in turn
part of a still larger Muslim world, which between them control most of
the world's known reserves of oil. There is nothing that Israel can offer
to or withhold from the "international community" that even begins to
compare with what the Arabs and Muslims can offer or withhold. This is the
fundamental reason why the entire world is now pressing Israel to accept a
Palestinian state which is almost certain to become a springboard for the
complete conquest and destruction of Israel. There is only one way that
Israel can withstand this pressure, and that is by developing and
implementing a realistic alternative to the concept of "two states for two
peoples". For lack of such an alternative, one Israeli government after
another has gradually succumbed to the pressure in favor of a Palestinian
state. But does such an alternative exist? Let us see.
