Exactly! We levy our anger at Bush - but he is just one person. He doesn't
have the power - or the intelligence - to pull all this off on his own. I
think this has been seeding for decades.
What's mindboggling and incomprehensible to me is the degree of co-operation
that has to exist among multiple individuals. Isn't there a risk that
somewhere down the line someone will say, "This is wrong - and I refuse to
be a party to it!"? I guess they're duly warned that they and their families
will be snuffed if they dissent or disclose any information.
I'm not politically savvy enough to know how they manage to put together a
scheme to pull off something like the Twin Towers and change a government
into a dictatorship (though I have no doubt whatsoever that they have
done - and are doing - so).Well, how does any dictator do it? How did Hitler
do it? Mussolini? Stalin?
I know I sound like an idiot, but, seriously - how does it happen? How do
you get an entire army to go along with Naziism? How do you get tens of
thousands of soldiers to agree to put people in gas chambers and stuff them
into ovens? How can there not be even one person who says, "I will not
cooperate with this!"? How does one madman acquire such power without being
assassinated somewhere along the way?
How do you get people in Congress to give you carte blanche to defy the
Constitution and the Geneva Conventions? Where is the Supreme Court? Are
they all "in" on it? Obviously so. Either that or they are so afraid of this
regime that they dare not act against it.
I've never entertained any illusions that this government is a democracy -
and the concept of its "conversion to a dictatorship" is probably
meaningless, since it fuctionally already is one. But whatever remnants or
"appearances" of civil liberties and human rights we still have will be
completely dismantled.
And, no - I don't see any possible means of derailing this inevitable
course. The people are down with the whole thing, because they believe
they're being "protected" from "terrorism." The thugs in their own
government are the terrorists!
I seriously had better get a passport in order. If this goon declares
himself dictator, I - what with being a Jew, an animal rights activist, and
the things I've said on the Internet - will probably be shot in my bed one
night.
