http://pnews.org/ Progressive News & Views (since 1982)
I've decided to try a little experiment. But, it will be one that is permanent because I don't want anyone here to waste their time if they should decide to make use of this project. I have made extensive changed and if you go to http://g0lem.net or http://up-your.us right now you will be redirected to http://pnews.org/ ... That is only temporary while I finish cleaning up the server at pnews.org (where up-yours.us is also parked). I plan to install TikiWiki there. It will be wide open. It will be a community project. Anotherwords, you can explore it, modify it, and do whatever you want there. You set build a blog and you can post an article. I am thinking about using it as an online community oriented substitute or adjunct for this list. I think mailing lists are dead anyway. It is a consequence and result of information overload and wildly varying trends on the InterNUT - and while blog communities have been replacing individual blogs, TIKI is still better. It is better because there are more options and this one I'm building has many more software routines you can use to build anything. I don't know if it will get used or not. I see by latest statistical analysis organizations that even top blog communities are on the wane. I knew they would be. Everything loses it's charm and people get tired of redundancy. I think TikiWiki can crest this wave in a new direction if you take it there. I would like to hear privately from those of you who think you may try it out. In the meantime, I expect it will take me a week to get it all done.
