Tarrant County is the one containing Ft. Worth,
the sort of twin country cousin of Dallas, the
rightist poweer-broker of Texas cities.
I have been pondering on the Libs for some time,
now, since their ideology has echoes of some strong
attractions: "...conceived in Liberty and dedicated
to the proposition that all men are created equal...."
The big Lib out here in Strange O-Range County,
California, is Rep. Dana Rohrebacher, who was a
well-known bohemian pot-smokinng hippie type while a
student in L.A. He is one of g. Wrong bush's most
faithful supporters, anti-union, and falls right in
line with the New American Century crowd except for a
few peripheral items like maybe abortion, pot
legalization, and stem cell research. Their
'liberties' involve individual rapaciousness,
absolutely no social contrrol of behavior except for
the protection of private property (and one should pay
a private company for that protection,) and military
protetion of our right to contract exploitation of
anyone anywhere in the world, preferably by
Blackwater-style mercenary soldiers.
If Marx, as he said, found Hegel's Dialectic
standing on its head in Idealism and stood it on its
feet in Materialism, the Libs have found Darwin's
Survival of the Species Most Able to Survive, and
turned it into Survival of the Parasites on The
Species -- the worst kind of the "anti-Social
Darwinists"!
Individual liberty can evolve ONLY in tandem
with the evolution of non-invasive social
responsibility! We ARE our brothers' keepers, and the
defenders of their rights, or else WE will never have
any for ourselves!
Not easy, right?

"...Tarrant County 2004 Election Results
Tarrant County had Libertarian candidates in the 6th,
24th and 26th Congressional races. Because of an
unfortunate blunder we had no candidate in the 12th.
The other Congressional race without a Libertarian was
the 14th. That is the district of Congressman Ron
Paul, the 1988 Libertarian candidate for
President...."
