Hello all, Lately, PowerPC has not got all the attention in pocl it deserves. Soon, the situation is going to be even worse. So, if you have interest to see PowerPC kept on the pocl supported list, now is you chance to step up! If nobody steps up, we have to deprecate the PPC support soon.
The reason for this is a combination of lack of time, lack of hardware and a desire to permanently move to the LLVM API compilation instead of the scripts (see README.powerpc for the issues that API mode brings on PPC). There are currently 27 tests where powerpc is mentioned in the "expected failure" field. This means the failure is PPC specific, i.e. that particular test works on x86 and/or ARM, so there is lot to be done. If you are interested, please contact the pocl developers by replying to this, off list or on IRC (#pocl on OFTC). We'd be happy to help you get started. cheers, kalle ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Managing the Performance of Cloud-Based Applications Take advantage of what the Cloud has to offer - Avoid Common Pitfalls.
