Regarding your question, you can easily set anything you want on a 
PdfAnnotation object using PdfAnnotation::GetObject()->GetDictionary().
You can add various keys to this dictionary to set properties on a 
PdfAnnotation. Please take a look into the files PdfAnnotation.cpp and 
PdfAnnotation.h how this is done. All properties and keys are documented in 
the PDF Reference which is freely available from Adobe.

Maybe you would also like to create a patch which adds more setters/getters to 
PdfAnnotations so that others can benefit from your work.
