I found it a bit more useful to build PoDoFo ourselves rather than using Mac Ports. In order to get the universal build correct, I added the following to the PdfDefines.h to detect the endian-ness:
//add a check to get the endian-ness correct for mac systems #ifdef __ppc__ #define PODOFO_IS_BIG_ENDIAN #else #define PODOFO_IS_LITTLE_ENDIAN #endif This works fine for us since we only build for windows and mac, but of course, assumes that if it aint macPPC, its not Big endian, which may not be a suitable assumption for all users. anyway, hope that helps.
